This theory entails that only a privilege group of individuals will have the power to dictate the norms by which we express ourselves. This applies to leadership because the concept of power can be perceived differently in many cultures, therefore our verbal expression will depend in how our culture defines privilege and power. The concept of power is commonly related to leadership. This correlation it may be made because of past political leaders and activist that through their language abilities convinced massive populations to do both positive and negative things. Nevertheless, power is an essential component of not only language but also of our society in general. This concept can manifest dominance among people and nations around the world. I have explored how global leadership and culture impacts human performance in organizations. In addition, I have presented an example of how and why global leadership should be approached differently by including multiculturalism. Finally, I have discussed communication factors that play an essential role in multicultural leadership. Nevertheless, my first inquiry is why other cultures perceive leadership differently and have a hard time identify themselves as leaders. I have discovered that culture is an essential part of how we communicate in general, despite the fact that each person is different; culture shapes our identity and communication. As a member of a collectivist culture, I grew up with the idea that leadership was unreachable, because hierarchy and power played such an important role in my life. Therefore, I had never considered myself as a leader, I never thought I was capable. Another important element that I discovered was that as a member of a third world country, the way powerful nations dictate the way we express ourselves as leaders negatively affects the way I perceived leadership.
