What in my opinion is the number one current issue facing the CNMI? The number one current issue facing the CNMI is casino gambling. There are three main reasons why I believe casino gambling is the number one current issue facing the CNMI: it will have a negative impact on the economy, it will cause family problems, and it will have a detrimental effect on the health of gamblers. Casino gambling in the CNMI can have a negative impact on our economy because it will force many establishments to shut down. It will cause many establishments or businesses to shut down because the majority of their customers will spend the money on gambling instead of spending it on their services.
