Cna Personal Statement

Ever since I started in to the Nursing profession, during nursing school and into my practice, I have always wanted to be a CRNA. I began my nursing career working in the OR and PACU in a critical access hospital. This hospital exclusively employed CRNAs for anesthesia, therefore I got to work closely with them. Each CRNA took the time to explain what and why of doing a task or giving a certain medication. I was fascinated with the anesthesia and machines to create safety and comfort for people during some intense operative procedures. I listened as the CRNAs recalled half-lives, classifications, physiology, and mechanisms of action of various drugs. I don’t ever recall them being nervous or flustered in a situation, they seemed to perform these daunting tasks with ease. This was a great learning experience, but I desired more. I then took a job at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, TX. There I developed my skills in the ICU all the while finishing my Bachelor’s degree in nursing. As a CRNA I aspire to deliver high-quality, holistic, evidence-based anesthesia and pain care services for my patients. I want to ensure each of my patients will look back at the surgery with no complaints regarding the anesthesia. One day I would like to take what I learn from CRNA School and use it to help those in clinical settings as a clinical instructor. I have made many sacrifices to get to this point of applying to CRNA School. My family has been instrumental in facilitating my goal of becoming a CRNA. They always are willing to support me in any way possible. I know I will continue to take that drive and determination with me through school and into my
