While social media is a great asset for most marketing I find it to be difficult to reach our ideal client as described above the older generation we are trying to reach is not as engaged in social media as say someone my age and they must be approached differently through social media. The owners in our meeting fit into that category and age range and they explained how they don't read those emails and they aren't quick to comment on or interact with social media pages as they worry about how others will see it. While employing younger people like myself they can benefit from my skills when it comes to technology but also there is a generational gap between myself and the people we are trying to market …show more content…
By gathering primary data through either focus groups or surveys we can find out what the community wants and use that to plan events and market our studio. “In the case of primary research, you are generating your own data from scratch as opposed to finding other people’s data. You might choose to gather this data by running a survey, interviewing people, observing behavior, or by using some other market research method.” (http://www.mymarketresearchmethods.com/primary-secondary-market-research-difference/). Currently we are making announcements before classes to generate that commentary and get that feedback while they are your standard update on events, specials and so on this is communication technology our members are familiar with. While it is the most basic option I do believe that the class announcements and the gathering of primary marketing data is the best option. they are able to engage in this medium of communication technology "The spoken word was the first technology by which man was able to let go of his environment in order to grasp it in a new way." 1995 Edited by Eric McLuhan & Frank Zingrone "Essential McLuhan" Routledge 1997 ISBN 0-415-16245-9 page

The franchise has spawned a mega-brand that has like any other, experienced highs and lows. Joseph Pilates had a very interesting life, starting off a sick child who suffered from asthma, rickets, and rhumatic fever he dedicated his life to becoming healthier and becoming more physically strong. I think that part of him is very admirable. I myself have asthma and fibromyalgia and thats enough to make excercize difficult for me, i cant imagine having rickets aswell which wouldve made his bones very fragile and easily breakable from the lack of vitamin D. I also thought that it was interesting that during his internment of world war 1 he taught people self defense and wrestling and that thats how he discovered his love for teaching. He lived a long life of 83 years considering how sick he was as a child and the fact that he was interned…
