At the beginning of the book it starts with a girl going to a party, but one of her friend was missing so the two girls went to find them but one never came back. One of the girls is named Summer but she ran into a man that kidnaped her. Of course she is terrified so he tried to run away. Sixteen year old Summer has a boyfriend named Lewis. She lives in a small town called Long Thorpe.

Summer was renamed as Lily from Colin but he wants them to call him Clover. Shannen In this case she is Rose, Rebecca is Poppy, and Jennifer is Violet, who was also in the cellar with Summer (Lily). They’re all renamed as flowers. They have been there longer than Lily. The unusual thing was, Clover worked as a lawyer. He also has Obsessive Compulsive

I also think it mean for the noun skin probably of crawling of describe her disgust. Like if she did not want him to touch her. I also think it meant is that he did not want to get touch. She did not want to get close to the man Clover or get touch by him.

Some symbolisms I found about the book is that the man Clover has obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). Something that Clover has of ocd is that he wants everything spotless clean. Other thing he has form OCD is that he wants everything to go on his plan. Also, he has the problem of scented smell for the rooms. Clover has the system of panic attacks when they flowers are dying. The last system he had throughout the whole book is that he gets really mad.

The second symbolisms I found throughout the book is that they are all karing in their one way. Some examples is when she risk herself to fight Clover first. Another example I found was when they tried to welcome lily when she first came in the cellar. I also think that they are all caring in their one way is by being nice to each other. I also think they are caring is when they try to explain Summer everything that happen in the cellar. Also, in the ending of the book when Summer and Poppy are still good

When looking through book titles, somehow people’s eyes just jump to a specific title without any rhyme or reason. The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd was the title that jumped out at me. I knew that there is no way that the book is actually about the lives of bees. I wanted to find out what it really meant. I read that it was set in South Carolina and was about a 14 year-old girl named Lily.…

    1. The wife of Young Goodman Brown is named “Faith” for a reason. It gives the reader a clue that Faith was named to represent the faith of Young Goodman Brown; such as the faith in this own life or the faith in god. For example when it states “Come, Goodman Brown, cried his fellow-traveler; this is a dull pace for the beginning of the journey. Take my staff, if you are soon weary” and “We are but a little way in the forest yet.”…

Journal # 1 Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad is a book I read for my University English class. People always say don’t judge a book by it’s cover, but I am that one guy that does. When I first looked at the book to be completely honest, I thought it had something to do with witches or something really unrealistic. I know I have a wild imagination. The first couple of pages of the book got me hooked instantly, I loved how the book just starts and how the narrator gets right into his adventure as a young man into the Congo River.…

Set in California near the Salinas River during The Great Depression, the novel begins when two grown men come looking in search of new jobs on a ranch. In Thomas C. Foster’s How to Read Literature Like a Professor and John Steinbeck’s novel, Of Mice and Men, both the authors use symbolism to show that it is related to an action or event experienced through individuals imaginations with a possible range of meanings and interpretations. In chapter 12 of Foster’s text, he uses caves and rivers as symbols of various interpretation and meanings that can only be understood using the tools, such as; questions, experiences, history, pre…

Also, rumination occurs with MDD; Lu has compulsions, not rumination. A diagnosis of other obsessive-compulsive and related disorders can be ruled out by the nature of Lu’s symptoms not being related to hair pulling, for trichotillomania. Hoarding disorder, on the other hand, is not an accurate diagnosis because although Lu’s wife reported that the house is getting cluttered with homemade shrines, Lu’s possible hoarding is caused by his preoccupation with prayer. Therefore, hoarding disorder…

he illustrious author John Huebert once wrote, "Power corrupts, incorruptably". Huebert pokes at the cliche theme of life that views the idea of power as an innate evil within all men. All men strive to achieve it and, in this endavour, many fall prey to destructive moral behavior. Behavior that inevitably corrupts a man whom attains power.
