Cloud Nine: A Short Story

Decent Essays
Salutations! I am Sandra, and I'll bet that you won't believe why I’m on cloud nine today!

Well, it all began yesterday when Scott asked me if I would go with him. Of course I replied yes, and that evening when I informed my Daddy he almost had a cow. Because in all reality I'm not supposed to start going with anybody until I’m 16 but I’m 15 so I figure I’m close enough. That’s what I told Daddy but he said that if he caught Scott near me that he would skin him alive.

After that, I told Scott that we couldn’t keep going together, and he said he was going go and lecture my Daddy for me. And you better believe that he did. So this night, Daddy apologized to me and he even bought me the newest brightest pink poodle skirt that I ever did see.

Meeting my Father The Memoir “All Over but the Shoutin’,” by Rick Bragg he tells us about his trip to his fathers house and how there was a flood of different emotions and realization because of it. This story really reminds me of times when my siblings and myself would go see my father when we were younger. It was kind of (emphasis on “kind of”) what Bragg was going through except my mother and father decided it would be in good interest for everyone if they just split up when I was much younger.…

Marianne asked her in an imperious tone, and Rebecca nodded. ' You're new here, aren't you?'…
