The oldest son Kashh Rej-Ister was spoken to first. Kashh stated that he was tending the garden in the back of the house during the time of his father's death but that was not right. The garden is actually on the far left side of the house near Mr. Fobic’s room. Another fact that wasn’t accurate was why Mr. Rej-Ister was outside tending at night. Later Kashh changed his story to say that he was out at the local market shopping. This seemed more accurate to the investigators, so they decided to waste no time and moved onto the other interviews. The next interview was with the only daughter, Munney Bagz. Are the so-called choices for women who want to become mothers really choices at all? In the documentary The Mommy Mystique: The Anxiety of Modern Motherhood, the women Judith Warner (author) speaks to, in her book, are middle and upper class who grew up in the 1970’s, the first generation to go to college and graduate school in percentages that match their counterparts. Peter William Sutcliffe otherwise known as ‘The Yorkshire Ripper ' was arrested on January 1st, 1981 after a murderous spree which spanned five years and claimed the lives of 13 women and attempting to murder a further seven (see appendix for details of victims). The case engulfed the nation as one of the most brutal in modern history since that of ‘Jack the Ripper ' in the 1800 's hence why the media adopted the term ‘Yorkshire ripper ' when addressing the case. Although known for the heinous crimes and number of them the case is also infamous for the failings of the West Yorkshire Police force in its hunt of Sutcliffe. The tension throughout West Yorkshire left neighbour suspecting neighbour and women afraid to be out at night alone. Despite the efforts of the police force, it was a standard patrol with an experienced officer who was training another that caught Sutcliffe and brought an end to his spree.…

The question of whether or not Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti received a fair trial is still in dispute today. Many people during the time of the case believed that the men were “executed on murder based on doubtful ballistic evidence” because of the hostility towards immigrants due to the Red Scare and World War 1 (“Perfect Suspects, Unfair Trials”). The evidence provided during the trial showed that the men were found guilty due to the fact that they were in anarchist groups and were active members of multiple militant groups. Sacco and Vanzetti were victims of intense xenophobia because of being Italian immigrants. This gave the courts the ability to declare a verdict on their ethnicity; therefore, we now have laws to protect the defendant from an unfair trial.…

Different cultures have a set of rules and guidelines that prescribe the acceptable norms in the society. These gender roles largely determine how women, children and men should conduct themselves within their communities. In Trifles, Susan Glaspell exposes a society that trivializes women’s opinions while upholding the male point of view. The three male characters in the play consistently emphasize the fact that women have a penchant for unimportant things in the society. The dominance demonstrated by men enables Mrs. Hale and Mrs. Peters to comprehend the enormity of a grossly biased justice system.…
