All of a sudden gunshots are let loose and the two men lay on the floor in a pool of blood. Its 2015, in Colorado springs, Colorado, people walk in and out of the Planned Parenthood facility.A white male randomly starts to shoot. Two cops and one civilian lose their life, four people lie injured. If we clump all these events together it would be categorized as hate crimes. As humans we seek for knowledge and truth. Close-mindedness is narrowing an individual 's understanding of the world. Choosing not to try to understand someone else 's culture or views is choosing to be ignorant. Being close minded is choosing to be ignorant. I’m not saying you have to agree with everything you hear or learn. It 's more about acquiring knowledge and then learning to respect people 's views or lives no matter how different it is from your. As a catholic, I’ve asked questions and read about the faith of Islam. After my inquiries I learned that Islam is a religion of love and peace and not of hate as the media would like to portray it. I may not agree with fasting to their extent or covering up as a sign of modesty, yet , I respect that it 's the way they choose to serve their god. If I was close minded and listened to what I was told, I wouldn 't be aware of the beliefs the millions of people that follow the Islam religion have.
