Why Cloning is a Good Idea by Joshua Lellock
On July 5, 1996, the first fully successful clone was created. Her name was Dolly, she was a sheep, and her creation marked a new era of genetic technology. However soon after her creation, people started protesting cloning. They said that cloning was inhumane, impractical, and some just said it was stupid. I, however, disagree with people and I will tell you why. I will go over both why I think cloning is a good idea as well as why I don’t think it’s inhumane. First thing first there are many reasons why I feel cloning is a good idea, one of these reasons is because of endangered species. With current methods, we are able to stop a few species from going extinct however there are still a lot of species that die off and there is no way to save them. However, with cloning, as long as there are at least one male and one female we could save every endangered species.
Another reason I support cloning is because it

On one side if someone close to you died, cloning would not be the answer. (s)he might look like them when (s)he gets older but (s)he will think differently, act differently, and over all be a different person. However, if a couple wants to have a baby, but can’t for whatever reason then cloning would be the solution. The baby would be its own person, and would never look the exactly like the parent because on different styles and the age difference.
Therefore, to sum everything up cloning would have multiple advantages, with little to no drawbacks. Sure cloning could be misused but no more than something like a computer could. Think about it a computer could be used for good things like say, donating to charity, but at the same time it could be used for something like hacking or cyberterrorism. The same thing can be said for cloning, good and bad depending on who is using it. This is why, that overall cloning is a good

I personally believe that cloning could be both a good and bad thing, and both sides make absolutely great points in their arguments. However, I believe that we should be able to have the choice whether or not we want to contribute to it or if we do not. Nevertheless, I think it depends on the reasoning you have for wanting and/or needing cloning done. I do believe that not all forms are ethically correct. I do agree with therapeutic cloning, as it could help people who may have cancer of a certain organ, that way they can clone the organ and just receive it instead of being put on a waiting list to find a potential match.…

A lot of scientists in different fields and people all around the world think that cloning is very unethical and should never be used. They believe that cloning would separate the clone from everyone else making them feel unworthy or left out. For others such as, Karen Weintraub a scientific journalist, she believes that is “--silly and sad for people to spend thousands or hundreds of thousands of dollars thinking they will get back a beloved pet through cloning.” Weintraub believes that death is a part of life and scientists should not try and avoid it. “Death is a terrible part of life, but cloning won’t allow us to avoid it.…

The child might live in the shadow of the duplication, which will impact a child negatively. Also the author mentions that “reproductive cloning could allow parents of a child who lost his/her life to seek a way to redress their loss” (CGS : Reproductive Cloning Arguments Pro and Con). Reproductive Cloning With constant new developments in science, society is forced to react and adapt. Along with these new developments, citizens are left questioning the ethics behind the experiment. Almost one hundred thirty years ago, society was introduced to the idea of cloning. It was not until the year nineteen ninety-six when the idea became reality and the first cloned mammal was born, Dolly the sheep. She set the grounds for the next cloned mammals to come.…

In my opinion I disagree with this type of cloning because I believe it is flat out wrong. Cloning a person or even an animal is interfering with God’s plan and what he intentionally created us for. If we are cloning, we are creating something God has never planned on making. Since we believe that life begins at the moment of conception as soon as the soul gets into body, we believe this should be the only way that is…

According to scientists the main pros of cloning are that defective genes could be eliminated, it could lead to people recovering faster from bad injuries, and it could eliminate infertility. As humans reproduce continually their DNA lines can be damaged and “this creates mutations and defective genes, but these could be eliminated thanks to the cloning of healthy human cells” (Pros and Cons of Human Cloning). This is saying that using cloned DNA can get rid of defective genes. When someone gets an injury that might cause them paralysis can be healed more quickly by cloning them with their own cells. Cloning can also be used to clone the cells of a mom or dad and create young twin of them.…

Cloning, therefore, should not be permitted for nonmedical purposes. One significant reason why cloning should not be done for nonmedical reasons is that it will eventually lead to the overpopulation of humans and animals (Rawat 1). If scientists are constantly cloning new organisms, then every human or animal would have to compete with each other for space and resources. As a result, survival of the fittest would take place. In simpler terms, only the dominant, well-adapted individuals would survive and the inferior ones would die off.…
