This is your local Around the Clock Crew, and today we have one outstanding story to share. Just two weeks ago Kalissa Bowey invented the very first time machine. On October 4, 2022 Kalissa traveled back to 626 BC, the beginning of the Babylonian Empire. After hearing about her remarkable invention we were joined by Kalissa herself and we just had to ask her a few questions. Our first question for Kalissa was “What interested you in wanting to build a time machine?” She gave us the response of, “As a little girl I was always interested in the history of Babylonia and always told myself that I would one day build a time machine to go back to the Babylonian civilization.” The question followed was “How does it feel to be the first person to ever invent a time machine and for it to actually work?” Kalissas’ response was “Being the first person to invent a time machine is a great accomplishment and has changed my life in so many different ways. When I started the process of building the time machine, I didn’t think that it was going to work. However, when the time machine was completed and it was tested for the first time and it worked, a rush of happiness and relieve ran throughout my …show more content…
It turns out that historians underestimated the Babylonians, as Kalissa talks to us about some of the accomplishments the Babylonians had. The Babylonians used seeder plows which were used to lay down seeds and to plow the ground. They also used glazed bricks which was used as a way to decorate temples and other buildings. According to Kalissa, the most significant accomplishment was the cuneiform. Joshua J. Mark stated that “Cuneiform is a system of writing first developed by the ancient Sumerians of Mesopotamia c. 3500-3000 BCE.” Kalissa told us that they would record events that occurred using
