Citizens in the United States are currently trying to make the right decision. Who will win the 2016 Presidential Election? United States citizens want a president that will lead, and do what will be best for their own country. The 2016 election between Clinton and Trump is not far away, therefore; many citizens have been looking into Donald Trump’s and Hillary Clinton’s beliefs. Though Trump and Clinton have the same promise of leading our country to a better place, their viewpoints on abortion, gun control, and same-sex marriage demonstrate how different they are. First and foremost, Trump and Clinton both have different beliefs discussing the topic, abortion. Donald Trump is pro-life, meaning he opposes abortion. Trump explains how he feels about abortion and how his views on it have changed over the years. Donald Trump hates the concept of abortion after seeing one of his close friends go through the thought of aborting their baby. Trump then says that his friends family decided not to abort, and today the baby is best thing that has ever happened to their family. He also believes that if abortion were legal in the United States, women that choose to abort their baby should be punished. This is a major topic where Trump and Clinton disagree. Hillary Clinton is pro-choice, meaning legalizing abortion. Clinton strongly believes that abortion is acceptable, and she believes that it is okay to abort during any stage of pregnancy. According to Presidential Election, Donald Trump said during a November 2013 interview on MSNBC, "I think I’m evolving, and I think I’m a very fair person, but I have been for traditional marriage. I am for traditional marriage, I am for a marriage between a man and a woman” (Presidential Election 1). Readers can infer by reading this quote that Donald Trump does not agree with same-sex marriage, and if he was to win the presidential election, then he would try to stop gay marriage. Donald Trump believes that God placed man and woman on the Earth for a reason, and that no man should be with a man nor woman with a woman. On the other hand, Hillary Clinton believes that same-sex marriage is acceptable. As stated in, PolitiFact, Hillary Clinton tweeted, "Every loving couple & family deserves to be recognized and treated equally under the law across our nation. #LoveMustWin #LoveCantWait” (Sherman 1). Hillary Clinton means that every couple, no matter if they are the same gender needs to be recognized. She believes that every relationship is equal no matter what. Gay marriage is a popular topic that is being discussed in the world today. Hillary Clinton’s and Donald Trump’s beliefs on same-sex marriage is a major role that divides a fine line between the two candidates.
