I was astounded by Hoffman Report that found that for more than ten years American psychological Association’ (APA) favored the Department of Defense (DoD) and got involved with some unethical “enhanced interrogation” programs. This was a moment when I realize how powerful we can become as psychologists and how careful I should be about it. Having Dr. Philips as our guest speaker was very helpful. He was calm, personable, and extremely knowledgeable in this field. I really enjoyed his views and everything that he taught us. This class made me realize how important it is to be active in this field; from taking volunteer jobs, to attending to conferences, presenting posters and many other things. Also how important it is to build professional relationships with others and keep those relationships.
Dr. kao ‘s life story was a very strong part of the semester. I was very impressed by his achievements and his determination. I learned how important it is to be determined and to have faith. His story taught me that no matter how much the road is rocky, my determination should stay as strong as the first day.
Every material that we went through in this class was very useful and important for us to know: from the ethical issues to discussion about writing proscriptions to information about the licensing and board exam.
