While a Specialist I oversaw five lower enlisted soldiers and it was my responsibility to ensure they developed and grew into better soldiers daily. I mentored and guided them in preparation for success in whatever they wanted to do. Following that, as a Sergeant I shifted to an administrative position that required filling. This position had me tracking all documents related to over 100 personnel. In addition to the processing and tracking of all documents, my responsibilities also included being the communication between higher leadership and all personnel, knowing dates time and information of all training events, and ensuring the welfare of all personnel. As a Sergeant it was still my responsibility to guide and mentor any soldiers who came to me. There were times while in this position I also had to step into shoes larger than mine and fill them appropriately. I could not be afraid to make quick decisions and take responsibility when leadership was not available. I feel all of these roles have prepared me for a career in Clinical Nurse Leadership. As a Clinical Nurse Leader I will have to provide mentoring to nursing staff, oversee the work environment, collect and evaluate care plans, coordinate among the nursing staff, anticipate risk and fulfill a multitude of other
