Clinical decision-making is a complex process that entails critical thinking, systematic problem solving, reflective practice, judgment, ethical values, professional accountability and evidence-based practice (Standing, 2005). Clinical decision making is crucial to every aspect of care delivered to a patient (Pearson, 2013). According to Chilcote (2016), nurses from different settings utilize clinical decisions that are based on two different thought processes that, when combined, results in a holistic picture of the patient.
