Good article summary. Clinical Decision Support Systems combined with EBP are such a good tandem when used properly in healthcare industry. It provides additional safety measures to reduce common medical errors, and misdiagnoses. Similar to other technological advances in medicine, and nursing, it should only be treated as an assistive tool, and not the basis for treatment. “The knowledge base must be updated and maintained when research evidence shows new findings important for patient care” (Alexander, Frith, & Hoy, 2015, pg. 227). I can see this system gets updated often to reduce safety concerns, and probably become more reliable in the near future.
