My clinic client that I observe has his therapy session on Tuesdays at 10:15. He is around 3 years old and originally had the diagnosis of language delay. His diagnosis has changed from that to developmental articulation disorder and expressive language disorder. One thing that surprised me was that most of the activities during the therapy session are the client is just playing and then the clinician tries to get him to produce words and utterances. One specific experience that I remember was the first session I observed. The clinician had her dog in the therapy room during the session.
