Li Chengxian(1924—2003),born in Linjiang, Jiangxi province. She graduated from National School of Fine Art in 1946. As a Dunhuang art researcher, she devoted her entire life to do the research and conserve the Dunhuang art while maintained oil paintings.
Chang Shuhong(1904—1994), born in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, who is a famous painter and an expert in Dunhuang art.
The couple Li Chengxian and Chang Shuhong created Climb the Qomolangma in 1986. Before painted this masterpiece, they created a similar painting named Qomolangma—to the people who have courage to climb the peak of the science in 1978.
