Climate Change: The Most Controversial Topics

Decent Essays
In science there are many controversial topics but I feel like the most controversial topic is climate change. Scientists say that humans are causing the climate to change drastically but Overall it isn't that bad. The controversial topics are what causes climate change, what can be done to prevent climate change, and the consequences of climate change.

The causes of climate change are said to be greenhouse gases, carbon dioxide, and the burning of fossil fuel and oils. The truth is that all of the chemicals are barely changing the climate. Naturally, the climate changes over the years because of the earth's orbit and the change of the axis pushes it closer and farther away from the sun. Volcanoes, meteorites, and asteroids. High

So while historically climate change has taken thousands of years, we have nearly increased carbon emissions by half since the 1960s, forming a thickening blanket that traps heat at the Earth’s surface. The winds and oceans circulate that heat, causing it to be hotter in some places and cooler in others. Climate…

Scientists believe that climate change is linked to the increasing concentrations of carbon dioxide (CO2) along with other gases in our atmosphere. The consequences of climate change include rising sea levels, extreme weather, melting ice, and impacts on animal and plant life. There are also people who are sceptical about global warming, the causes and effects. Shorter term changes are referred…

In the past, scientist have been able to observe things such as ocean sediments, tree rings, ice cores, boreholes, glacier lengths, and pollen remains to obverse what could cause climate change (Rye, et. al., 2013). From these studies they have found three natural-induced process that have influenced global climate change which include changes in the Earth 's distance from the sun due a changing orbit (also known as Milankovitch cycles), changes in the Sun 's power and intensity ,and volcanic eruptions (Rye, et. al., 2013). There three factors, are naturally occurring or Non-man made phenomenon in nature that can increase or decrease the global climate.…

I think that climate change is a very serious issue in today’s age. Scientists have high confidence that worldwide temperatures will continue to rise for at least 20 years to come, mostly due to pollution (that heats up the Earth) produced by human activities. With how the climate is acting now, as in the temperatures are rising nonstop and that’s is causing The Arctic Ocean to become essentially ice free in summer before mid-century. All because of climate change, as we advance into the future with new technology, we gain more problems with our own earth's atmosphere. To the people who cause the pollution from multiple things.…

There are various factors causing the change in average weather conditions, such as plate tectonics, solar radiation, and volcanic activities. Many scientists have researched and have advocated raising awareness of global warming and the changes the world can become. Now we are starting to see changes and melting of glaciers from the irresponsibility 20 years ago. Inevitable leaving a concerning question if this problem keeps on going how it altered life of the future generations. Will they be endangered because of global warming? A big concern right now is the lack of knowledge people have on Global warming also the lack of support from the people and the government mainly because change is not in their best interests since we are all collaborating in pollution or global warming in some way.…

The Climate Change Crisis Global warming is a rising issue around the world that needs to be addressed. There are multiple things that we can do to end global warming or to dampen the amount of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases being released into the atmosphere. We can come together as a community to promote eco-friendly energy sources or change small things in our homes to save energy individually. In my community, a small and fairly wealthy town, it has been apparent that people rarely use public transportation or consider the amount of fuel their car uses. Most people in my the town do not think what kind of issues?…

Many people wonder why there is so much controversy on the topic of global warming. That is because of the public’s concern and debates over whether global warming is anthropogenic (man-made). Ever since mass media became globalized (media technologies that reach a large audience all across world), many feel that the topic on global warming is biased because of the major impact the media has on the public (it is written, published, recorded, reported, and televised). Almost the entire world is exposed to the media and it has led many people to believe that global warming is influenced by liberals that control the media to sell papers and fund environmentalists. The topic of global warming is an on going battle between liberals and conservatives.…

The variations in the Earth’s orbit can fluctuate how warm or cold the temperature can get. Methodology My research methodology is designed to eliminate the dichotomy between traditional natural disasters, thought to be exacerbated by climate change and ones where climate change plays little to no role in their occurrence, severity, and detectability (traditionally earthquakes and volcanoes are believed to not be affected by climate change). There are three main parts of the methodology. The first part involves collecting data from the worst natural disasters by ICCC categories [biological (epidemic), geophysical (volcano), hydrological (flood), meteorological (storm), and climatological (heat wave)] for each country in existence; this corresponds to 1176 discrete events, and the majority of the data comes from the EM-DAT Database…

In recent years, the theory of global warming became a controversial topic in today 's society. Many dispute that global warming is due to humans and the many technological advances. Global warming could cause temperature increases, rising sea levels, glacier melting, and increased carbon emissions. The theory of global warming was introduced to the media in the 1900’s. The extreme amount of carbon dioxide was slowly corroding the ozone layer.…
