Summary
As the United States grows in population, The need for a healthier environment is crucial for our well being. The United States government does not seem to believe climate change is an issue and it is causing our global temperature to rise every year. With the increase in burning CO2 gases, earth's global temperature is projected to rise by four degrees Celsius. Along with an increase in CO2 production, there is also air and water pollution on the rise. In order to combat climate change and pollution, the U.S. government needs to take more action informing their citizens.
Discussion
The burning of fossil fuels and other activities have increased carbon dioxide and greenhouse gas concentrations in our atmosphere. This causes our climate to change and in return brings unhealthy living environments. Polluting our air and water with harsh chemicals increases the spread of disease and death. The United States government needs to limit corporations from spreading pollutants into our air and water system. …show more content…
According to Cunningham (2016), “In the past 200 years, concentrations of CO2 in the atmosphere have increased nearly 50 percent” (p. 5). Atmosphere models demonstrate that by 2100 if current patterns proceed, worldwide mean temperatures will presumably increase from 2 degrees Celsius to 6 degrees Celsius. We want to keep the average global temperature at two degrees Celsius for a good living environment. (Codero, 2018). Society needs to prevent our global temperature from increasing and limit the production of CO2
