Climate change can be described as “a change in the statistical properties of the climate system that persists for several decades or longer... These statistical properties include averages, variability and extremes. Climate change may be due to natural processes, such as changes in the Sun’s radiation, volcanoes or internal variability in the climate system, or due to human influences such as changes in the composition of the atmosphere or land use.” (Alexander) According to Australian Academy of Science. What people think of when they hear climate change, however, is the rapidly changing weather conditions, and its biggest effect: overall rise in temperature of the Earth that is caused by humans. John Coleman co-founder of the Weather Channel does not believe that climate change is man-made, and that CO2 emissions are not a major culprit. He believes that temperatures have not risen for years, and that polar ice is not melting. Al Gore believes that CO2 emissions are a main cause for temperature increase, and that humans have caused a major rise in those emissions. Gore believes that a couple of effects of climate change are a rise in temperature, and polar ice melting too. Al Gore is more accurate in his argument because he has done comprehensive research that 97-98% of climate researchers have confirmed, and agreed upon.
The first issue Gore proved to be correct is that climate change is man-made, and the effects are largely due to an increase in CO2 emissions. There has…
