Climate Change In Metro Vancouver

Climate change has been on the radar for many scientists in the last few decades. As we pollute the Earth increasingly each year, climate change is starting to become more serious. First off, who should be worried about climate change and the environmental/financial costs that come with it? Quite frankly, everyone should begin to believe that our climate is changing for the worse and if we do not try to reduce the effects, our future will not be pretty. What does this have to do with the article? Well, as the article states, because of climate change, Metro Vancouver alone will have to face 9.5 billion dollars in expenses by 2100. This is an enormous amount of money to be paid by the city, and since oil companies play a big role in the pollution of our climate, a multitude of groups are starting to tell fossil fuel corporations to expect to pay up. …show more content…
To the greedy and ignorant types of people, our ecosystem does not even matter. This is a problem of course, because those types of people tend to be amongst the top of oil companies. I chose to summarize this article because I think that the Earth’s entire ecosystem is important, and if we continue to allow pollution to build up in our environment, we will not last very long as a species. Social Studies allows us to understand the diverse aspects of society, and the more we learn about humanity as a whole, the more we can begin to improve
