Climate change is the shift in long-term, global weather patterns due to human action; it is not exclusive to warming or cooling. It includes any change resulting from different factors, like deforestation or an increase in Greenhouse gases. Global warming is one type of climate change, and it refers to the increasing temperature of our planet. Greenhouse gases contribute to the greenhouse effect. It is an ‘’overall warming of the Earth as atmospheric gases trap electromagnetic radiation from the sun that would otherwise have been reflected back into space.’’ ( As the Earth moves out of ice ages over the past million years, the global temperature rose a total of 4 to 7 degrees Celsius over about 5000 years. In the past century alone, the temperature has climbed 0.7 degrees Celsius. Models predict that the Earth with warm between 2 and 6 degrees Celsius in the next century. The predicted rate of warming for the next century is at least twenty times faster, which is extremely unusual. Scientists know about past climates because of evidence left in tree rings, layers of ice in glaciers, ocean sediments, coral reefs, and layers of sediment rocks. For example, bubbles of air in glacial ice trap some small samples of Earth’s history of greenhouse gases that goes back more than 800 000 years ago. Climate change has a lot of impacts on New-Brunswick. As a result of climate change,…
