Client’s biological mother is deceased and described as a stern but loving mother. She passed away during Monica’s sophomore year (when she was 15 years old) after a long battle with breast cancer. Client’s biological father is 40, currently lives in California and is described to be an absent father. They would speak two times a year, but he did not provide any form of support. Client’s biological grandmother is 65, is recently retired from teaching, and is described as being a loving and supportive woman. According to Monica, she is a “little overprotective and controlling” but she has been an active force in her life. She reports her mother and father divorced when she was two years old, but she was too young to remember any details. Client
