From observation, the client is a young adult, Caucasian female. The client reported being a junior undergraduate student studying psychology.

The client talked about having issues concerning lack of readiness for life after graduation. Since the client is a junior and plans on graduating within the next two years, there are several concerning life decisions that will be made in the near future. It was mentioned that future decisions seem stressful to the client. Within the next two sessions the client's different concerns regarding upcoming life transitions will be discussed.

The client did not report any information about any past trauma/abuse, substance abuse, family history, previous counseling experiences, medical/mental health history, or any other relevant issues.

Even when going over the informed consent, the client expressed excitement for seeing their subject of study being applied to a real-life situation. It was brought up that the client is currently studying ethics in a counseling class and it is interesting to hear it being talked about within the session. The client also stated coming to the session from an intramural sports game, which suggests they are partaking in a positive extracurricular activity.
V. Clinical Assessment of Case
Overall, the client seems to be well-grounded and is experiencing normal upperclassmen stress regarding life decisions after graduating. It was reported that the client is thankful to be a junior, so they have a year to start exploring options, but it is all happening very quickly. The client mentioned these hard decisions are "inevitable" and would like a sense of comfort.
