LeBron Raymone James, current player for the Cleveland Cavaliers, was born in Ohio in 1984. His fame and attention started in his high school years when he was the top player on the court. His unique skills combined with size, athleticism and court vision helped him become one of the premier players in the NBA. He started his professional basketball career when he was drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2003. He played with the Cavaliers from 2003 to 2009/10 after which he joined with the Miami Heat. With the Miami Heat, LeBron managed to win his first Championship in the 2011/12 and then again in the 2012/13 seasons. The athletes showed off their skills in slam dunking, especially Aaron Gordons, which in my opinion he should’ve won. The video and picture of Aaron Gordons dunking over the mascot went viral, it was on all forms of social media and was talked about for days. “While LaVine came away with the trophy, Gordon was the overwhelming victor on social media, becoming a global trending topic and spurning countless GIFs and memes that paid homage to his phenomenal performance.”- Dan Savage. He was so popular that it started the trend of #AirGordon. So as a way of engaging more consumer to the organization, Gordon took over the Orlando Magic’s twitter account and answered the fans questions. Since then he has gained 109 thousand followers on his twitter, 383 thousand plus followers on his Facebook, and 628 thousand plus followers on Instagram. Due to Gordon, the Orlando Magic’s fan based has increased on social media as well: 540 thousand followers on Instagram, 1.48 million followers on twitter, and 2.7 million followers on Facebook.
