There is a certain point in life when some people do not deserve clemency because every time that person is condoned, that person takes advantage it because that person knows they will receive forgiveness. This happened because Hassan stood up for Amir and did not give the kite to the group of boys. Amir was there and watching, yet Hassan chose to act like nothing had happened. This is one of the several reasons why Amir does not deserve clemency. Afterward, the situation worsened when Amir throws pomegranates at Hassan, which splattered and hurt Hassan's body. Amir did not want association with Hassan because he was a Hazara (which is a small minority), even though Hassan is Amir's only friend, Amir still betrayed Hassan and became jealous that Hassan received more attention from Baba than Amir was. As a result of Amir's jealousy and a deep desire to disembarrass Hassan, which resulted in Hassan's annihilation. Notably, Richard “certainly did something 'immoral' [...]. But, had he taken the throne and held it until he died peacefully in his bed” (Stanley 1). Thus we can also theorize that Amir also died a peaceful life with his wife and kid, however Amir should not demise peacefully because Amir has hurt so many just like Richard. Thus, because of the amount of forgiveness Amir received resulted in the death of his
