The beaches of St. Petersburg, FL boast more than 30 miles of sugary white sands, tranquil shallow seas, serene shores and dazzling sunsets over the Gulf of Mexico, creating breathtaking scenes as uniquely incredible as the beaches along its shoreline. Each beach has its own identity and appeal, attracting people from both near and far. There are more than a dozen beaches in this area and some are more popular than others. Let’s look at what makes some of St. Petersburg beaches so special.

This laid back beach showcases sea turtle and seabird nesting sites scattered along its shore, and it is a great place for boaters.

Reminiscent of Old Florida, Indian Rocks Beach features roughly three miles of beautiful wide, flat, accessible white-sand beaches, along with beautiful dune-lined expanse scattered with small motels, vacation cottages and rental condos.
One of the highlight of Indian Shores is it beachside sanctuary, the largest wild bird hospital in the US. It’s soft sand stretches for roughly 2.65 miles and offers a quaint, relaxing atmosphere.
Redington Shores boasts brilliant white sand and sparkling blue water, amazing sunsets, and features a 1,200-foot-long fishing pier, making it a great location from anglers.
Also called “Mad Beach,” Madeira Beach is popular among tourists and locals alike. Its white-sand beaches and emerald-turquoise water draws many to its shores, but John’s Pass Village and Boardwalk keeps the energy alive in “Mad Beach.”
