Clearwater will construct and maintain our living area until we are rescued by having an emergency shelter that is about 70 square meters with length benches. If an airing problem occurs, then we must evacuate our living area and move out into a tunnel. We will use a rear actor to dig for underground water sources. As well, we will use the radiators from the vehicles inside the mine shaft to search for water. Food supplies will be limited because we will need to prepare ourselves for darker nights. Our emergency supplies will allow us each to last for 3 and a half weeks. We will swallow little spoonfuls of canned tuna, a sip of milk and a biscuit every 48 hours. Also, we will use truck batteries to power our hard hat lamps for lighting. Working

The topic of body paragraph #1 is that Terri Ellis’s best friend does not want to live in rock creek on the farm. “Rock creek will be a ghost town in five years” Based on this information we can tell that Terri’s best friend does not want to stay at rock creek and be stuck in the ghost town if it ever turns into one. He also doesn’t like it there because it is a farm instead of a neighborhood or a normal house. Terri’s best friend’s father said, all I wanted was this farm and a good family, I’m staying right where I want to be, and I’m not leaving.…

In the article by Bill McEwen, the author claims the water problem causes so many troubles. McEwen states, “...When water shortages already are killing the Valley’s west-side, farm based economy” (McEwen,2009). In the other words, McEwen believes if we did not have water, our economy would be ruined. I agree with him because if we did not fix the water problem, we would not have water to use for planting or for fish fish to live and when we did not have water for planting or fishing, we would not have money and our economy would be ruined so we should fix the water problem as soon as possible.…

The Cochabamba Water Collective (CWC) is by far what I consider to be one of the better suited proposals for this area and for the management of these water resources. Bolivia itself does not have an incredibly advanced or well established infrastructure and still has a long way to go before it becomes as economically stable as many larger countries such as the United States, Canada, or the United Kingdom. So until Bolivia is able to develop and grow as an economy and country, then reinvestment in locals, a focus on local economy and development, and well directed reform, is what’s necessary to see success. The Cochabamba Water Collective seems to hit all three of these points. By utilizing the funds that the IMF and the World Bank have previously…

The last couple of months have been dreadful. It was filled with exhaustion, boredom, false hope, and above all, plenty of freezing. It all started when we left the steamboat that brought Martin and me all the way from Seattle to the Yukon. The second we placed a foot on the ground, stampedes of other prospectors hurried along the harbor, as every moment that they were ahead of the others bought them a bigger chance in hitting it big in the mines. This is what they believed in the beginning, at least.…

What I thought about the water portfolio that we did for our science unit was that it was a good way to teach us about this unit. Despite the fact that I would prefer to have tests, quizzes and more textbook work, I do find that this water portfolio assignment is still an effective way to teach students. It was enjoyable to work on the water portfolio and to experience a new way of learning rather than the common way of it being mainly textbook based and with more tests and quizzes. Additionally, creating a water portfolio was less work and more enjoyable than having to study each lesson for hours and to prepare for tests and quizzes. I find that the water portfolio was an easier and faster way to get through the unit and it may have conveyed…

Into the Dark Water by Lauren Tarshis has many quotes from a boy named Jack Thayer, who at the time was 17, and sailing on the Titanic. The exact quotes from Jack really made the story more believable and made me feel like I was really there. Furthermore, it can be confusing why the author added in the quotes, as some have profound meanings. And even though they they are nicely hidden, they help the article in unthinkable ways. Jack Thayer stated on April 14, 1912, “It was the kind of night that made one glad to be alive.”…
