The first video I watched dealt with placement and least restrictive environment. The speaker talked about how in Article 7 students with disabilities have an equal opportunity when it comes to school functioned activities. This was a new interesting aspect of placement and LRE that never occurred to me before. Since this is a part of Article 7 would it need to be incorporated in a child’s IEP? I also appreciated how the speaker went into depth about LRE. The child seems to be protected by the rules that are in place. The child can only be removed from the regular education classroom when the learning of other children has been affected.
The second video I watched talked about behavior assessment and how to use it when measuring a child’s response to intervention. The speaker talked about making a check list for teachers when they send a kid to the principal’s office. The forms need to be short but also have a high quality of questions. According to the speaker it needs to be short because a teachers’ emotions will affect the how the teacher fills the form out. It will also be more efficient to have a shorter form. The questions that the form asks needs to be of high quality so that it can portray an accurate picture of what actually happened in the classroom.

The speaker first addressed how there is terminology that is vague. He talks about one statement “over a long period of time”. The speaker mentions how this needs to be specified because there could be outside forces impacting the way a child behaves in school. A child maybe dealing with the fact that their parents divorced and it has impacted them for a few weeks.
