In the classroom I noticed the different temperaments in the children. According to the staff the kids show their emotions specially when they didn't sleep well during the night. Some infants are happy or upset depending on events happening throughout their life.
During the observation I noticed that one of the kids doesn't like the process of getting their diaper changed. She kicks and won't stay still. She cry's her lungs out when this even is taking place. She kicks and cry during the process of getting her diaper changed. The teacher knows how this child reacts to this. During the changing I noticed how stressful this was for both of them. She told me how difficult it was for her to change this child's diaper.

In my own case, it was an outgrowth of the desperation. I was feeling in the classroom, but I had to take the bold move of contacting the disruptive boy’s mother, and facing whatever challenges, or anger they might express. I did not know what to expect but by taking a curious and open attitude, it gave his mother the space she needed to open up about his learning difficulties. Conclusion…

First, she remained calm the whole time during this activity, even when the child was distracted and not on task. Watching this activity I feel that this could be very frustrating since the child is not completing the goal as well as it was probably planned. Plus, she tried to keep the activity fast paced to keep the boy into the activity. Also during the video we saw the clinician was recording data and checking the time as the activity went along. I think this is a positive point because it displays that she is capable of quickly switching from task to task, by giving her attention to the boy then quickly jotting notes down.…

While observing I observed the teacher switch classrooms with two students to see if they would enjoy and behave better during circle time. They had success and are now switching on a regular basis. They offered a change of environment and it was very helpful to the students. This is interesting to me because in order to work with children we have to follow certain protocol making sure the children are in a safe environment meaning making sure we are following procedures when it comes to the health of children making sure the environment is safe from any harmful chemicals, or other items that may harm the children, making sure there is adequate space for each child to move freely, making sure allergies are labeled making sure they are not getting anything that they are not supposed to get, we must follow sanitation procedures so that germs are not spread, this topic important in the early childhood field (Gonzalez-Mena, Janet, 2014, pp. 39-61). When it comes to communication with young children we as educator cannot talk at the children but talk to them by getting at their level and giving them a time to communicate what they are trying to say “istening to what a child says does not just mean hearing what they are saying verbally but also their facial expressions, and body language the text calls this holistic listening” (Gonzalez-Mena, Janet, 2014, p. 66). Children like to talk and they love when adults take the time to…

I can empathize with teachers who say that the observation and evaluation process does not seem reciprocal in nature. Most of my follow-up evaluations have either been waived or conducted in five minutes or less in which the principal hits upon the highlights of my observation. Very few teaching lessons have been learned through these interactions. In her article though, Shelly Arneson includes sound practices that can be implemented to alleviate many of the concerns of the evaluation process. Her basic premise is to shift the dialogue from inspection-based conversation to a reflection-based conversation.…

It is imperative to understand that these triggers cause chemical reactions in the body and brain that prime the heart, lungs and muscles to fight, flight or freeze. Children begin to become emotionally dysregulated, which can appear as aggressive, agitated and angry or disengaged, numb and inattentive. Instead of giving warnings of possible punishment, teachers can try to give offers of help or direct the child to participate in self-regulation activities.
