Classroom Observation: Tiny Tales

Decent Essays
For my classroom observation I attended a library group called Tiny Tales. It is located at the Missoula Public Library in Missoula. There were 20 children that attended this day. Tiny Tales is a unique program held on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Participants will sing songs, learn finger plays and nursery rhymes, and hear stories. The will learn stories and rhymes that will help your baby develop language skills and your toddler develop their vocabulary. Toddlers learn nine new words a day. There were a variety of children there of all ages. There were babies that were crawling around, along with some that would walk. Some children would participate in songs like the itsy bitsy spider, old McDonald, if you happy and you know it, ABCS, head,

Observation Report William Loesche Elementary is an exceptional school for what I have seen thus far. The community as a whole is warm and welcoming. I was pleasantly surprised when I met my cooperating teacher. She greeted my partner and I with a smile and told us a little bit about her self. I was instantly intrigued when Mrs. Timber told us that she was a Temple University graduate because I felt like I could quickly relate to her.…

If I were able to pick the line for Spring 2016 I would pick Potential Candidates that would help keep this chapter alive and better the chapter as well. I would chose Courtney Lall because she's very passionate and has made connections with other sister from other chapters. I would then choose Melanie Taveras. She hasn't been and interest long, but she knows a lot about the chapter and comes up with good suggestions when it comes to fundraising. about the.…

My child observation and classroom observation took place at the Mt. San Jacinto Child Development and Education center in the preschool/pre-k (ages 36 months to 54 months) program room. This classroom has 2 teachers and 15 children in attendance during my observation. My study child is a male student age 4 who for this assignment I will refer to as C. The classroom environment as a whole can handle the children within the program, however I will provide a better picture of the entire room to have a clear picture for reflection. As a child walking into this classroom you feel a sense of warmth of both the environment and also from the teacher as she greats all her children individually.…

Discussion As outlined previously, there were 3 domains from the CLASS use to conduct observations on a teacher and children in a preschool classroom. My observation was done on a Pre-K class room at a local Kinder Care Learning Center around 4:30pm in the afternoon. During this time the teachers are preparing the children to leave for the day. The class room was set up to show that the kids were preparing for regular school and not just spending their entire day napping and singing songs. The room had about 6 windows that allowed a lot of natural light, there were 2 square tables with at least 6 little chairs at each table, and a small round blue table. The room was filled with book shelves, cabinets with pictures of the children on the cabinet doors; each child had a cubby with their name and a picture of them displayed on the front of it.…

In the past month, I have been traveling to Williams Middle School in Florence, South Carolina to observe a dance educator and Coker alumni, Ashley Lesage. After the opportunity of observing twice, there were a few things I agreed with and did not agree with as far as the students and teaching methods. September 15, 2016 was my first time observing in Ms. Lesage’s classroom. One of the first things I noticed amongst the students were their clothing attire. In a dance studio, usually an observer would see leotards, tights, leggings, t-shirt, and a tanktop.…

In the Pre-K classroom that I observed it consisted of several different centers for the children to participate in, such as: block area, dramatic play, art, library, sand/water table, music/movement, sensory area, finger painting, play dough, and the students got the opportunity to make their own snacks. Not only did the students get to participate in centers, they had the opportunity each day to go outside and play on the playground as well as having an interactive lecture every morning at circle time and when the students sat down at their tables to do their daily worksheet. I believe that the Pre-K class I observed was a mix between traditional teaching as well as constructivism, creating a balance between the two. In the morning during circle time, the teacher would “lecture” the students with the letter of the day, go over the date, months, days of the week, shapes, and the numbers up to the date it currently was.…

When observing an average first grade classroom many people tend to notice right away who can't behave themselves and who can. While many children stay focused on completing their school work the extremely active children have a hard time sitting in their seat. With the observations of the following two researchers they came up with some possible theories on why these wild children are unable to sit still in their seat. Dr. Madsen, the first researcher, decided to ask the parents of the first grade students to keep a diary of their food intake for a week. The same children were then observed in their classrooms and documented on their activity levels.…

On my first day of observing Mrs. Albita’s 4th grade classroom, I first noticed how she selected the student that would write the objective for the day. Mrs. Alba has a jar with popsicle sticks that contain the names of all the students in her class. She selects one stick and that student is responsible for writing the class objective correctly. First the student has to listen to the teacher carefully. Next, the student writes down what he/she heard.…

Being able to go out and observe in a classroom is something that makes me so excited to be a teacher in the future. I was able to observe a classroom and learn many techniques to encourage learning. On October 11 I went to Discovery Elementary School to observe in Mrs. Hibma’s classroom. This was a 3rd grade classroom, and this interested me because I would love to teach 3rd grade. There were 27 students in the classroom, which I found to be a large classroom.…

For example, the infant, toddler, and preschooler that I observed were all on different levels of language development. As written in the first multi-age running record, the infant could only articulate one word phrases or sounds, like, “Voo.” The toddler could speak phrases with two or more words, such as, “See it, see it, see it!” Then, the preschooler could communicate with complete sentences, like, “I’ve got another pancake.” It was interesting to see each of the children developing language within different stages of early childhood.…

Throughout the course of my five days at the SAHETI primary school, I found myself astonished at various activities that are done throughout the day. Through the course of my practical, I was given a Grade two class to observe and I unquestionably discovered a recently developed love for that age group. I was always adamant from the first time I knew I wanted to become a teacher that I wanted to teach Grade one’s, but my thoughts have definitely evolved. During the course of my observing I was more than willing to help with various activities such as marking, doing spelling tests with the children, as well as helping them with any difficulties they were having with their work. I have gained a lot of experience after helping out with the activities and my knowledge for teaching has grown immensely.…
