It is with great pleasure to nominate Ms. Eleanor Bass for consideration for the 2016 -2017 Outstanding Advisor of the Year Award in recognition of her monumental efforts, countless hours of dedication and her impetuous passion while serving for a National, historic and trailblazing organization. Ms. Eleanor Bass has been at the head of the organization since it first began on Tennessee State University’s campus in the thriving corridors of Edna Rose Hankal Hall in 1996 where she served as the Dorm Director. That led to the creation of Women of Empowerment, The Frankie J. Pierce Federated Chapter, the 1st collegiate chapter of NACWC, Inc., where Ms. Bass served as the advisor. Since that moment, she has been the advisor and Charter member of the organization for 20 years and counting.…

This is my personal recommendation for Jessica Prible. Until recently, I was Jessica's immediate supervisor for several months over the past few years while she was attending college. I found her to be a consistent joy to be around, as well as driven sales associate with an amazing ability to deal with conflict in a calm and dignified manner. Besides always being a pleasure to work with, she also did so while maintaining above average grades in school. Bringing a positive attitude to work no matter what was happening with school or her personal life.…

With regard as the main factors of this class that I observed, I observed the space and its furnishing, language- reasoning, and activities. First, the qualities of the space and its furnishing that were given to the children to create a comfortable classroom environment for their learning and playing.…

To vote these students into their positions we used a participatory model, found in chapter four, to create our election process. We agreed that each candidate would give a short presentation and then they stepped out of the room and we put our heads down and raised our hands for the candidate we wanted to vote for. Chapter three and employee development is a factor also, because the sustainability board, sub-group leaders, and general members all need to work together to guide the project and manage each other in a respectable way without being too invasive. This is difficult, but so far, I believe we have all done a fine job and am hopeful it will remain that way. Also, I believe this club will be a good example of inter-shared services…

While observing my Elementary teacher, I had noticed she uses the think aloud scaffold though out her lesson plans. A scaffold helps teachers model ways to solve a problem, then allows them to step away from the students to encourage them to use the learning material independently. She only helps the students when she sees them feeling overwhelmed or struggling. This helps her provide the students with chunks of information without overwhelming the students. A subject that I know I will be teaching is, reading comprehension in social studies.…

I visited three different classrooms at north shore elementary. For my internship, I am in a first-grade classroom, so I decided to observe a second-grade classroom as it would be a good opportunity to see how wide the gap of only one year would be with students. I also visited a gifted and talented third-grade classroom and a Special education resource class. From my day observing different classrooms I learned that techniques and strategies change to accommodate each individual child.…

I can empathize with teachers who say that the observation and evaluation process does not seem reciprocal in nature. Most of my follow-up evaluations have either been waived or conducted in five minutes or less in which the principal hits upon the highlights of my observation. Very few teaching lessons have been learned through these interactions. In her article though, Shelly Arneson includes sound practices that can be implemented to alleviate many of the concerns of the evaluation process. Her basic premise is to shift the dialogue from inspection-based conversation to a reflection-based conversation.…
