Classroom Observation Paper

This week was the second time I was able to observe a second grade classroom. During my observation I was able to experience different approaches of my host teacher to teach math. I was also able to learn through observation how the teacher have the classroom set up for her students to learn. I had the opportunity to ask my host teacher about the best practice of teaching mathematics. She shared with me that the best way to teach math to young children is by not giving them the answer. For example, if she ask how many is two apples plus two apples, and if the children answer four. She just don’t say that is correct, she ask questions to the children.
