All teachers from around the world like to teach in their own unique type of method. Some teachers methods exceeds tremendously other teacher method may crash and burn to the ground. All together I can say that you did a great job in teaching this class new stories and standards. This semester of my 2017 11th grade year learning new objective was not as difficult as some of my early classes has been. Although there were a few good standards that you taught well their were also some method I did not like as much. First, covering the Anthem book was not one of the best books that we had to recover. The book Anthem was very tactical I think that with that book we should of did more worksheets for that story. The class discussions was not really

Doing clinical observations are very important because it gives a change to see student and teacher interactions first hand and get to see how well a student is responding. During my observations at Biddeford Intermediate School, I got the change to shadow an Ed. Teach in a life skills room. This was a great opportunity for me because it was a chance to see another kind of intervention done in the special education department. I have done many observations with an occupational therapist, and they have always been in lighting and very educational, but to visit a life skills room gave me more perspective on the special education department as a whole.…

Throughout this section I will compare the classrooms of 3rd and 4th grade and the classroom of 1st grade in order to see the differences between the teacher that follows the educational approach of the school and the teacher that follows a traditional approach. 1.1 3rd and 4th grade classrooms. As we have seen, the characteristics of the school bet on the new methodologies, on the diversity of the groups and on the active role of the students among others. But the School-based Educational Project does not have an exactly description of the teaching activities, methodology or routine that teachers have to follow, so it provides teachers a big cathedra liberty.…

Over winter break, I had the opportunity to work as a substitute preschool teacher at the Jewish Community Center of Columbus Ohio. I was placed in the Turtle Room, the classroom for two to three year olds. Since a large part of the student population is Jewish, the preschool cafeteria only provided Kosher foods. I distinctly remember one day talking to the lead teacher in the classroom, Amanda about how one little boy, Henry would never eat his lunch or snacks. Henry would stick to only the foods that he knew like mandarin oranges or carrots and that was all he would eat.…

I have learned new skills by entering General Education class, which by the way has to be the hardest course I have taken. One of the biggest things that I have learned is that I believe I have been submitting the references incorrect. The proper way to cite a quote is in the following: according to authors Reysen & Katzarska-Miller (2013). “global citizenship as awareness, caring, and embracing cultural diversity while promoting social justice and stability, coupled with a sense of responsibility to act (Snider, Reysen, & Katzarska-Miller, in press)” (p. 860).…

Optional Essay The organization of the course by ethnic serves as a culturally valuable pedagogy. It helped me comprehend each group by its costumes and traditions. Even in class, professor Weidman used to make some remarks of the particularities of the members of some tribes. One that I remember was the skillful hunters (i.e. getting the neighbor’ animals), since, the same group was not specialized in harvesting the foods they eat. Also, the Mohawks from upstate New York who work in the construction of skyscrapers in Manhattan.…

On November 28, 2017, I spent my fourth day with class 3-213 at P.S. 45. During this time, I felt I was able to confidently encounter, converse, and assist the children with varying subject matters. At this point, the children even felt comfortable enough to ask me for help. Additionally, my cooperating teacher, Mrs. Jessica Diaz, is still extremely helpful and even allows me to teach the students in small-groups. By working in small-groups, I have been able to facilitate learning on an individualized level.…

Reflection Paper - Final Exam After taking six years of English through high school, two from a local college, I didn’t think I could ever be surprised by what is essentially a writing class, this class proved that wrong in more than one way. I would start by saying that I don’t believe this class made me a better overall, a better blogger perhaps but I don’t think my writing knowledge has “increased”. I do however think that this class has expanded my mind to blogging and has brought me from a skeptical skeptic to a skeptical believer. Coming into the class I wasn’t expecting to be insanely engaged, after having the class selected to me by my adviser and being one of the two only guys in the class I was just hoping to finish up my last UCOR…

From reading over the handouts given to me from every student in class, I was able to pull several similarities and differences out from the seventeen interviews. A significant difference that I took away from this assignment was the differences early care/preschool educators versus those who teach in primary public school grades. Early care/preschool educators focus more on the aspect of cognitive, social, and academic skills that children develop from birth to about age five. Children are at their basis of learning in early care/preschool, they are still learning their alphabet and are becoming acquainted with being in a classroom setting. While primary public school grade educators take the knowledge that children have learned previously…

Role of Research in Instructional Design The role of an educator entails more than mere passion; it demands knowledge. Research responds to this demand. It discloses essential knowledge about learners, reveals social, psychosocial and neurological progressions that stimulate human behavior and influence society. Additionally, research is the illuminator that affords practitioners knowledge of the learning process, produces data for creation of learning models, and supplies information used to develop tools and strategies to advance the educational process.…

I can empathize with teachers who say that the observation and evaluation process does not seem reciprocal in nature. Most of my follow-up evaluations have either been waived or conducted in five minutes or less in which the principal hits upon the highlights of my observation. Very few teaching lessons have been learned through these interactions. In her article though, Shelly Arneson includes sound practices that can be implemented to alleviate many of the concerns of the evaluation process. Her basic premise is to shift the dialogue from inspection-based conversation to a reflection-based conversation.…

The environment of a classroom is a very important factor in a child’s education and should include a variety of centers, equipment, and space. Ideally the classroom will provide the students with different learning tools and stimuli in an area that does not feel overcrowded or cluttered. Children should be provided with an environment that is not over crowded with too many students and not enough resources- something that can be difficult in certain school systems. Overall the indoor environment for learning is one of the most important aspects of a child’s educational experience. The class observed in this paper was located in Elon Elementary School.…
