After collecting and analyzing the data, I will reflect on the instructional strategies and learning activities utilized during each lesson to determine if the techniques enhanced the students’ comprehension and promoted academic achievement. After reflecting upon my instruction and analyzing my students’ academic performance, I will determine if the strategies implemented during the lesson promoted student learning and mastery of the lesson’s target concepts or if I need to reevaluate the instructional strategies I used during the lesson. If the data shows the students did not achieve the learning goal, I will reteach the concept to ensure the students understand the material. I will also incorporate diverse data collection methods since students’ abilities to display their knowledge can vary based on the assessment type. Resources I will utilize to create authentic assessments and to collect and analyze data are Depth of Knowledge (DOK) and Bloom’s Taxonomy charts, school district assessment materials and grading scales, Developmental Reading Assessment (DRA) or a similar reading assessment used by the school district where I am employed, learning standards established by the state where I am employed, and computerized documents, charts, and spreadsheets to display data

In terms of setting up and organizing a classroom, introducing and applying the rules comes before building relationships with the students because even though the relationship aspect is important, the students need to learn how to behave and follow the rules accordingly. Putting rules into place and building relationships with the students are equally important but, if I had to rank them, rules would have to come first. It is very important that the students know the rules of the classroom in the beginning because if they do not know the rules, the students automatically assume that there aren’t any rules and they can just walk all over the teacher. This is bad because the teacher ends up loses her authority as a higher figure. If a teacher…

Classroom management is a fascinating concept for me right now. What I am fearful of is for that concept never to become a reality, but to stay in the desirable and unachievable category. This fear is in the same line as fear of never becoming a good teacher, but forever be a great student with a high potential. My observation of more experienced teachers has led me to realize a classroom management is a combination of structure, strategies and a teacher confidence. Structure is a logical continuation of teacher’s ability to plan a busy and interesting lesson; strategies are more a reflection of teacher’s experience and ability to use appropriate “tools” depending on the requirements of the particular situation; confidence is a believe that…
