Since being at Munger Hill Elementary for my observation hours I have learned and been taught so much about classroom management. Classroom management is very essential and critical to have because if it wasn’t done our jobs as teachers would be difficult and unorganized. I am very glad that I have learned some new things on how to manage a classroom because as a teacher in the future I will use these things in my classroom. I have learned that my cooperating teacher has many beliefs about the children and classroom management. One of her beliefs about the children and classroom management that I think is the most important is that the main key to a well functioning classroom is creating respect with other students and the teacher and the …show more content…
Necessary changes are only made with the rules if she thinks the students don’t really understand the rule completely and is confused by it because of sometimes having the wording be to hard. Yes I do personally think that the rules are applied equally and consistently to all the students. The reason why I think the rules are applied equally and consistently to all the students is because if the students break any of the rules they all know what the consequences are. The teacher made sure when she was making the rules for the classroom to apply them to all the students equally and accurately. Yes I do think the established rules match my own beliefs of classroom management. I strongly believe that rules like this should be followed in every classroom regardless if they are for special ed students or not. I know that when I am a teacher that these basic rules are ones that I will apply in my classroom so they can be taught basic skills that will help them all throughout the school year which deal with behavior and management. Classroom organization and rituals I noticed are parts of the classroom management system. My teacher establishes these two things by sometimes sending home little notes to the parents of students saying they had a good day or if they misbehave those parents get a negative note instead. Some of the students in class usually get negative notes sent home to parents instead because there are a couple who I have noticed misbehave a lot. Another thing my teacher does to establish these two things is by sometimes giving certain students during the day little breaks because they require them. In the class there is a corner in the room where it is considered a cool off corner where students sometimes need to

Empathy could be the most important attribute a teacher can have when advocating for social development in a classroom full of students. In order for children to feel safe and secure in a space other than home, they need to feel that someone cares for them and is attentive to their needs. Teachers need to have the ability to tailor instruction to meet all skill levels and this can build a trusting relationship between student and teacher. This essay will describe the stages of social development, the teacher’s role in social development and list a few ideas of how to promote positive sense of self in the classroom. There are eight stages of social development, according to the psychosocial development expert, Erik Erikson.…

Rich was very grateful to have received this job, and has put a lot of effort into his teaching, despite the pressures of a first year teacher. For the first three quarters of the year, he has had good classroom management skills, and his students respect him as a teacher. He clearly spends time thinking about his students because when he noticed a few of them were struggling toward the end of the year he became concerned and wanted to help them out, especially since their behaviors effected the entire class.…

I really enjoyed the time I spent in Mrs. Flinn’s fourth grade classroom over Spring Break. I was able to observe for a total of four hours between Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning. Along with these supports, I was extremely impressed by the way Mrs. Flinn handled classroom management. Even though I observed during a very exciting week, she had great control over her students.…

For example, in the first few days I will explain that every morning there will be a morning meeting. During this meeting we will talk about the plans and announcements for the day and sing our greeting song as well. Final Exam: 1. The quote, “Classroom management is 90% of the job. The remaining 90% is delivery of instruction,” means to me that good classroom management is needed, but you need to teach the students so they can connect to the science they are learning about. The room should be arranged nicely and clear, specific rules should be in place for the daily routine and housekeeping of the class. As their teacher, I should have high expectations and plan accordingly.…
