Purpose of the Review This literature review sheds light on certain points including: 1) characteristics of collaborative classroom, 2) role of teachers in a collaborative classroom, 3) role of students in a collaborative classroom, 4) and a summary.
Characteristics of Collaborative Classroom The collaboration skill sets refer to the ability of individuals to communicate clearly, using oral, written, and non-verbal languages, and collaborate effectively and responsibly with diverse populations (Pacific Policy Research Center, 2010). Hence there is a set of characteristics the can describe a collaborative classroom.

Heterogeneous groupings of students: a critical characteristic of collaborative classrooms is that students are not segregated according to supposed ability, achievement, interests, or any other characteristic.
