Customization, is also known, as conforming to new ways using certain ideas. It is a commonly accepted form of education among students. To have an interactive learning environment, teachers like to incorporate customized learning with their students. They essentially challenge the standardized ways of teaching by making it more relatable and easier for the students to follow by. Davidson explains that, “relevance has been proved to be a crucial factor for keeping students in high school, especially mid-and lower level students” (Davidson 59). But, it is important to consider that standardization is what sets the bar for academic success and serves as the foundation for learning. By changing what has been already set; the original, traditional way of teaching is being not only changed, but corrupted. Teachers restrict learning and future potential by conforming to finding new ways of teaching. In “Project Classroom Makeover,” Davidson attempts to change a class setting by incorporating technology with education, and using iPods to educate students instead of textbooks.
