Classroom Comparison

Improved Essays
Throughout this section I will compare the classrooms of 3rd and 4th grade and the classroom of 1st grade in order to see the differences between the teacher that follows the educational approach of the school and the teacher that follows a traditional approach.
1.1 3rd and 4th grade classrooms.
As we have seen, the characteristics of the school bet on the new methodologies, on the diversity of the groups and on the active role of the students among others. But the School-based Educational Project does not have an exactly description of the teaching activities, methodology or routine that teachers have to follow, so it provides teachers a big cathedra liberty. It is exactly what happens in the English classroom of 4th and 3rd grade.

When I was studying at the Duzici Anatolian Teacher High School, which known as just very successful in training future teachers, I learned a lot of things about teaching. In addition, I had to go on a training course for regional boarding secondary school for one semester. At that time and I believe it is still a very prevalent thing; especially poor families dropping their children into this type of boarding school. Sad but true, they do not have any other option, it is like a mandatory choice for poor peasant people. Those kind of schools are completely free in Turkey and basically, the government is taking care of the children in there.…

Throughout my observation time spent at Reese Elementary, I have had the opportunity to observe two teachers, Mrs. Church, who is a second-grade teacher, and Mr. Dohrmann, who is a fifth-grade teacher. The teachers teach different grade levels and have very different teaching styles which lead to differences in classroom management and assessment, as well as, other categories. Even though there are many differences between Mrs. Church and Mr. Dohrmann they also have many similarities, such as the way they handle discipline and motivation. During my observation hours in both classrooms, I noticed the classroom management procedures that both teachers use. Both teachers have a class schedule they go by to keep the students and themselves on task throughout the day.…

In public or private education, I believe the three most challenging transitional points for middle level students are when they initially move from elementary to middle school; from middle to high school and transitioning from youth to adolescence. • The recommended curriculum approaches to meet the needs of middle level students transitioning from elementary to middle school would be instead of having students stay with one teacher to receive curriculum, allow students to begin as early as the third grade, exploring changing classes at least twice under the instruction of two teachers, and increasing the class change to three, etc. until he or she moves on to middle school.…
