This plan has proved to be effective thus far because parents seem to be very comfortable contacting me, when needed. At the point in the year, parents are almost always signing their student’s folders and planners. By providing families with multiple ways of keeping up with my class, students are learning to be more responsible for their own grades.
3. Thus far, I haven’t had any major concerns about my communication plan. Now that the school website is up and running, families are finding it much easier to stay on top of student work. Prior to this, some families were struggling to do so but this issue has been resolved. The only downside to this communication plan is that some parents sign their student’s planners and folders without reading what they are signing.
4. It is highly beneficial to communicate with the families of my student’s as much as possible. When parents and I are on the same page, their students tend to be more successful. By getting support at home and from me, students feel more comfortable asking for help and do a better job of keeping up with their schoolwork. Having a united front (of parents and myself), it also makes discipline easier to handle. When a student is misbehaving, it is easy for me to reach out to parents who are involved in this communication
