When I think of a great leader, I think of past or present president, police, and teachers. But, I also think of parents, honor roll students, and, honest, mindful people in society, as great leaders. When we, as a whole, think of a great leader we automatically think of people in power, people with money. We don’t think of everyday people on the streets. We don’t think about the cashier at the grocery store as a leader. And that is why we need to correctly define leader, and understand the true qualities, and characteristics it takes to be a great leader.
There are many great leaders out there, many we know of, but even more we don’t. Being a great leader does not mean you have to have money, or a big group of socials. All you need is your true self. Being a great leader takes integrity, and honesty. Being a leader means that someone is going to look up to you and take your actions into consideration. Being a great leader is knowing you can lead, it is knowing how to start trends. But starting trends as well as giving credit to those who’ve inspired you. Being a great leader does not always mean that you lead or that you began from the beginning by leading. Yes, people in power tend to be very great leaders, but not always. Sometimes we misuse leader with someone who just had power. To you, a great leader could be your mother, and for someone a great leader could be Barack Obama. There is no definition of who a leader can and cannot be.
