Always Believe in yourself “Let us approach the throne of grace with confidence” (Hebrew 4:16) In Classic Christianity, Bob George says about “God will hear our prayers, weather we’re worthy to be used by god in ministry” (p 81-83). In this part of the reading Bob George talks about how John John Kennedy walked around the white house with confidence as a little kid, and how everyone knew who he was. Well growing up with confidence is certainly a good thing specially the world we live in now, it’s hard to keep a positive attitude with everyone being negative weather it’s face to face or on social studies.

Mostly everything has some sort of challenge to it. Like I said earlier it’s hard to be positive when you have people being negative around you and on purpose. But the biggest challenge I find is being positive with yourself because some people are so hard on themselves growing up. I know this because I’m hard on myself more than anyone else has been because I’m always trying to be the best I can. Which in life that isn’t easy doing that so sometimes I see myself on the other end of thing’s. I believe many people can agree with me on this when you’re in a rut It could be such a challenge to get out of it or even to make a smile time to

This time, he connected with the everyday citizens with Christian faith, and relates to their common beliefs in God to persuade his audience. By asking for God’s help in his task of working for American freedom, Kennedy created an appeal to the audience’s religion and common experiences, and gained the support of his listeners who also have a deep and emotional faith in God. Kennedy finished by giving the new American generation his word of confidence, and he stated that he does not “believe that any of us would exchange places with any other people or any other generation” (3). Once again with the purpose of captivating the audience’s emotions, Kennedy created feelings of honor and self-worth in his American audience to give them the sense that with hard work, they could reach their goal. By putting his trust in this generation, Kennedy persuaded America to…

In the three essays written by Dillard, Appiah, and Pratt, they all use different examples but focus overall on the same “big picture”. They’re all part of a larger conversation, but they each stepped back and put in their own point of view on this subject. The main subject they all discuss is seeing. Dillard talks about how what people see is what they get. If they look for positivity and see positivity in everything, then they will get positivity out of it, and vice versa.…

Dr. Martin Luther King is such a hugely looked up to figure in our nation's history because of the incredible injustices he fought, but more importantly because he never lost hope while doing so. King assuredly was living in a remarkably segregated America, and the freedom, dignity, and equality of all races and people that he grappled for did not come easily. However, never was he seen giving up or losing even a shred of hope. Dr. King once said, “We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope.” Leading the citizens of the US with this in mind, was how he become such a prominent figure in history, and someone I aspire to be.…

“A hypocrite is a person who - but who isn't?” (Don Marquis). Christians are called to follow the word of God not only through their word, but also through their actions. Their “yes’” should be “yes’” and their “no’s” should be “no’s”. Christians have been indoctrinated to suppose they are the chosen people of Christ, which leads them into believing they will be saved without the effort it takes to be a true follower.…

Among the many topics Lewis discussed in his book Mere Christianity, one topic that was most prominent with this author is Lewis’ discussion on Moral Law or the Law of Human nature. According to Lewis (1952), Moral Law, or the Law of Human Nature tells human beings what they ought to do, and what they ought not to do, and is described as something that is above and beyond the auspices of actual facts and human behavior (p. 21). In other words, Moral Law is not something human beings invented, and even though human beings did not invent Moral Law, most human beings have a natural inclination to obey it (Lewis, 1952). There are two sides to every coin, and opposing views on nearly everything, including Moral Law.…

Author Robert Tew once stated, “the struggle you’re in today is developing the strength you need for tomorrow.” Although people struggle in life, they must not focus their minds on the struggle, instead they should look at the positive impacts that come from the struggle. Living a fortunate life doesn't mean that a person will not face any differences or any problems to overcome. Living a content life is about being able to conquer everything that can be a distraction in one’s life by being able to see nothing but what they have been gifted with. Doing this requires a person to dig very deep, to notice that they are blessed.…

The most significant challenge that I have faced was that I would not put enough effort in my work. This was effected with my work since I would always finish my work, but it would not be how I wanted it to be. This would always lead me to getting low scores and not getting the grade that I would hope for. The way I overcame this challenge was I would start putting more effort into my work I would not slack off and do it at the last minute, and with this I would ask my friend if I can copy their work, which means that I would copy them and I would keep doing that until one day I said that I need to be better so one day I started to change.…

    Turned Into A Good Thing

The assignment I have been given asks me “Can any obstacle or disadvantage be turned into something good?” I believe this statement to be mostly true. Although I think that most things can be turned into something good, I would not go so far as to say that “any” thing can be turned into good. One of the only things that I can think of that can not be turned into good is your own death. Even though other peoples deaths can benefit you, your own death will not benefit you the majority of the time.…

As stated by Yuuki Asuna, “Life isn’t just doing things for yourself. It’s possible to live in such a way that other people’s happiness, makes you happy too.” Doing something for oneself is selfish and pointless. A. Attention Getter: I know the majority of the class are thinking, “Oh no, is that a cricket ball? Anything, but that lame sport.” I bet everyone would rather watch the Cleveland Browns lose to a high school football team or even watch Donald Trump play golf for the whole day than watch a single boring cricket game. B. Reason to Listen: It has become a meme to insult the sport of cricket, and rightfully so. Cricket is not popular sport in America, and it will never be accepted as a major sport.…
