With that being said it’s a tad bit ridiculous to think that the U.S is rank 64th among countries in income equality. In Robert Reich wealth and poverty class he copious amounts of excellent points. One of the questions were “What is happening in the terms of distribution of income and wealth?” As we reviewed throughout the video the lower wage jobs have decreased and higher wage careers have increased. In 1978 the typical male worker made $48,302 and the typical 1% worker earned $393,682. That is a dramatic difference between the two workers and after years have passed we would have expected for there to be some improvement since many other things in the economy has improved. More recent analysis would be from year 2010 where the typical male worker makes about $33,751 and the typical 1% earned $1,101,089. From my perspective I find that this just shows how many situations concerning the importance of the U.S economy has been shove to the side and covered up by other insignificant events. The parent will start to work harder and longer hours and it’s very sad that even though they are putting a strain on their selves and trying to better their household there will not be a huge difference in their income. If our economy stays at the same pace we will have a high chance of being in a stagnation. Prosperity needs to be spread amongst everyone so that our economy may become more efficient. There will not be an increase in jobs if the consumers do not have the money to make demand inflate. I know that if we do what is recommended to make our economy more efficient and decrease our cyclical unemployment that our economy will grow to be more
