Class Sizes

People have been arguing lately about class sizes. Saying that students don’t get attention in large classes. Most people say that class sizes need to be cut, and more teachers need to be hired. I agree with these arguments. If there are more kids in a class a lot of them will be messing around. They will not be paying attention to the class work or the teacher. This will also cause kids to get more disruptive.. Teachers will also be affected by large classes. They will get stressed out trying to teach such large classes and it makes their job harder. If more teachers are hired this could give more job opportunities and reduce the number of students in each classroom. For the main concern, the students, this will affect students

Rusty, dark, and tight is what can describe Woodbridge Middle School, a school that is one hundred six years old and is evident by how the school is taken care of, or lack of. Students spend a significant amount of time at school and should feel excited and comfortable to be there. The problem with having schools that are not receiving proper care while there are schools that are well off is that they receive more assistance which results in an unequal balance of resources being distributed. Yet these schools that get the short end of the stick learn to work with what they have, but if one thinks of that mentality that might not get the school working full speed ahead. In Woodbridge Middle School, when one enters one sees that a lot of classes…

The process of deciding what college to attend, is one of the most difficult tasks that one can have in their lives. There are so many variables in choosing the right school, the education, sports, size, denomination. The University of Sioux Falls is a great fit for me because of many different things like the size, education, and the denomination. Being able to play a sport that you enjoy and study the intended majors are great to have. But in addition, the close relationships that all students have with their teachers and other students is something rare in colleges these days.…

Benefits of Private School I have been attending private school for almost eleven years, and I believe that my experience at Forcey Christian School has been an important part of my life that has helped to shape the person I am today. My class sizes have always been fairly small, allowing me to develop personal relationships with both my teachers and my peers. Over the years, my teachers have always made sure that each student receives their full attention at all times. Because we have such small class sizes, teachers are able to see when one of their students are falling behind or are struggling with the material that is being taught in class, and they are also able to identify a student that is in need of a greater challenge or needs to…

All their worried about is talking to their friends and being on their phones. I know that we can’t have our phones out in Monroe City High School, but other schools can. If no one pays attention to the teacher then no one knows how to do the lesson and they all get bad grades on the assignment. You could argue that bigger classes are better because they can work in bigger groups and get better grades on projects but you could also argue that smaller classes are better. Small classes are better at some points because more one on one, but they are also bad because they are not always big enough to move on with the class.…

However, the unescapable problems that come with reducing class sizes are a major concern. Some teachers believe that students, particularly those in primary grades (k-6), would benefit most from a class size reduction. Studies have revealed that smaller classes are better for both the student and teacher in both scholastic and social skills. It is apparent that our country is interested in improving schools and the reduction of class sizes is one way they are tracking. States are considering the opportunities that reduction of class sizes will have on their students.…

I believe that if smaller class size were implemented it would be beneficial to teachers and the students that he/she are assigned to. By having a well-balanced teacher to student ratio the students will be allowed more one on one time with the teacher in areas that are difficult to the students, which are usually science and math. In the class teachers are required to have a schedule that they must abide by in order to be able teach all subject areas in one school day. By having a smaller size class the teacher can identify what areas are difficult for students and could possibly spend more time teaching it because with the smaller class this will allow the teacher to answer more questions that students may have and to review the subject further using more examples of the lessons that are being taught. In order for the class sizes to be smaller schools must be willing to hire the additional teachers needed in order for the classes to be balanced.…

This is proved in “Does Class Size Matter?” by Professor Diane Whitmore Schanzanbach. It is said in accordance to her evidence “increasing class size will harm not only children’s test scores in the short run, but also their long-run human capital formation. Money saved today by increasing class sizes will result in more substantial social and educational costs in the future.” It is proven that smaller classes are worth it in the long run, so why are we still hesitating to create a change in our education…

College is a big step in life and people should pay to experience it. College offers unique opportunities that can take you to higher places. Students should pay for college because if they don’t pay they will think college is a joke, there might not be enough class and dorm space because of extra student's, and lastly the teachers will be frustrated because there would be too many kids in a small area.
