Class I Had A Negative Outlook On The Entire Course Essay

When I first came into class, I had a negative outlook on the entire course. I thought it was going to be like the speech class I took my sophomore year in high school; basically had to do a presentation /speech every week and listen to the same criticism of what you did right and wrong. Because of that class I’ve never been particularly enjoyed public speaking. However, this Intro to Speech class has changed my perspective I didn’t there were so many studies in the communication field such as the FIRO needs and interpersonal communication. The FIRO needs topic has been my favorite so far; I thought it was really interesting how accurate the personality quiz. My results were ISFJ and the definition from www.typefocus.com is me in a nutshell and I can use this knowledge to revaluate my relationships. Being an introvert I will never go right up to someone to say “Hi”, at the same though I have the need to be included in any group activity with my close friends, otherwise I feel rejected. Whereas my roommate is pretty much the same as me, except instead of “I” hers is “E” for Extroversion. I feel like this why we get along so well because we balance each other out. She helps me get out my comfort zone, but at the same time I makes sure doesn’t tire herself out.
Beside myself, I can somewhat guess what other peoples FIRO needs are just by the way interact with me and other people. One example is a recent, my friend was explaining to me about how her friend said he needs space…
