My plan for this activity was to have Jaxson to play with a set of action figures that presented careers like police officer, fire fighter, and farmer. So, that Jaxson had to compare and categorized them along with having to think deeply about where they go and what they do. These were simple designs that were created for toddlers and they came with their own small cloth buildings to show where they work. So, Jaxson and I sat at the table where I presented one action figure with all the buildings up. My plan was to let Jaxson observe the action figure and describe to me who it was. The first figure I presented to him was the farmer, I ask Jaxson what does a farmer do?

So I grabbed his small fire truck and put it next to the fire fighter and ask the question again before he said, “He…fire fighter!” I said, “What does he do?” Jaxson said, “Put fires out of houses.” I told him that was correct and placed him by the rest. I moved the fire truck to the floor and then ask Jaxson to categorize each action figure to their right homes. I sat back while Jaxson grab the police officer and was looking at the small cloth houses while deciding on where he would go.
Jaxson at first was going to put the police man over to where the farmer lived but pull the figure back and placed it at the police station. Next, Jaxson picked up the farmer and put next to the police officer. Lastly, Jaxson grab the fire fighter and placed it on the farm and said, “Done!” I sit back up and ask him what a firefighter do at a farm? Jaxson look back at it and said, “Stop fires.”
I said that is true but would he take care of them? Jaxson said, “No…” and grab the firefighter and held it while thinking of where to put him. A couple of minutes’ pass and I said we would get back to him, so we put our attention on the police officer and farmer. I ask him what a police officer would do at the police station? Jaxson stated to “Put bad guys in
