The main character in this novel is Clarke Griffin. Clarke is a 17 year old girl who used to be a medical apprentice. She is one of the original 100 members and committed treason. When the delinquents crash landed on Earth, she used her medical skills to act as a doctor for all the teens. She saved multiple people. About half way through the novel, a major character dies and Clarke becomes a co leader with Bellamy. Clarke tries to form peace groups so the tension dies down a little bit within the community of grounders (the 100).
Clarke is determined and very intelligent. She is a very good leader. Also, Clarke may sometimes be selfless but she is very caring and not to mention loyal. Clarke feels that violence is never the answer to a problem
