A Great Leader
I believe that the character Clarke Griffin played by Eliza Taylor in the show The 100 displays the characteristics of what makes a great leader. The television series takes place a century in the future, years after planet Earth is destroyed and the remaining survivors residing in an international space station. The space station known as The Ark discovered that their resources are running out. In order to insure their future is still in sight, the leaders of The Ark sends 100 juvenile prisoners back to planet Earth to determine its habitability. The prisoners wore special cuffs on their wrist in order for The Ark leaders to track their location, and to determine if they were still alive. The prisoners who spent their entire

As a leader, Clarke is willing to take risks and displays this by sending her best friend into enemy headquarters to be an inside man, in order to rescue their people. She also has to make life or death decisions for the hundred, such as choosing between killing hundreds of innocent people and in the process saving her people, or letting her people die, but saving innocent lives. Clarke took control of the situation and showed loyalty to the hundred choosing to keep her people safe while killing innocent people in the process. This caused great trauma on Clarke as she never imagined herself as a murderer, but even in this situation, she remains optimistic by telling herself if she didn’t kill those innocent lives, her people might be dead.
I chose Clarke as someone who is a great leader because she is inspirational. Clarke had to make really difficult decisions at a young age, and she also had the responsibility of protecting one hundred people, which can be quite stressful and nerve-wracking. Even though she faced difficult situations, Clarke managed to stay strong because she knew if she became weak, her people would be in danger and as a leader she could not let that happen. Therefore, I believe Clarke is a great

George Washington, a prime example of what one regards to be a great leader. Dependable, communicative, and charismatic are all words that surface when asked to describe George Washington. Being an introvert, if I had to be as communicative or charismatic as Mr. Washington, I would be terror-stricken, but that does not mean that I am not an awe-inspiring leader like him. Our first president may have been a heroic leader, however, there are many other remarkable leaders that do not fit within that definition. Rosa Parks, a seamstress that has influenced millions of individuals through her actions alone without being as communicative as Mr. Washington.…

Before Clarke went through all the dramatic stages that caused her personality to change, the 99 people she went down with on the rocket viewed her as a goody two shoes or someone who always does the right thing. But after these life changing events, everyone’s view of Clarke changed and she became viewed as a leader that was not afraid to do what she needed to do for her safety and the safety of her family and friends. She was also viewed about mid way through the series as someone you do not want to mess with and someone who it is best to just agree with and move on. An example of this is when Clarke is talking to Lexa, a love interest and one of main characters, about how Lexa wants something, Clarke states, “Well, if you want the power of Wanheda, kill me. Take it.…
