Amber is a young woman from Missouri, a business major with hopes of working in a Fortune 500 company in the near future. Clark Atlanta is an illustrious University in the heart of Atlanta, Georgia. Location is key for Amber; she loves Atlanta’s bright lights and diversity. Since Sikeston is such a small city, she wasn’t sure if she’d be able to adjust to such a large one. Amber knew that if she attended an HBCU, she would be in competition with peers of the same race. She loved the idea of having colleagues that resemble her with goals and dreams to become successful. The environment is very motivating and inspiring. Being that she is a business major and Clark’s business school is known throughout the country, her attention was fully drawn. She already had her mind on Clark Atlanta by the simple research she discovered, she decided to take a tour to have a definite choice. After touring Clark’s beautiful campus, she was amazed. The students and faculty were so enthusiastic about their HBCU; it was so inspiring for Amber. While she toured it was stated that, “competition is high in this area,” right in Amber’s alley.
