Clara Jane Bell Duvall had a similar situation as Geraldine Santoro where both of them had a unsafe illegal abortion. Clara was a married woman of five children, six months to twelve years old. She and her family of seven moved in with her parents in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in nineteen-twenty nine because of financial problems. Clara Jane attempted a self induced abortion and under the care of their family doctor she was not hospitalized for a few days. In an attempt to cover up her unsafe abortion her illness was considered pneumonia.(Attention grabber)
